The Four Major molecules:
There are four very important molecules in our bodies,
Nucleic acidsThere are three different types of nucleic acids: DNA, RNA, and ATP.
Carbohydrates:A carbohydrate is a molecule of sugar, there are monosaccharides (1), disaccharides (2), and polysaccharides (3+). their function is short term energy for cells.
Lipids:Lipids serve as log-term energy storage for cells. there are three types of lipids: triglycerides (three fatty acids attached to a glyceride), phospholipids (hydrophilic phosphate attached to two hydrophobic fatty acids), and steroids (hormones). phospholipids make up cell membranes.
proteins:Proteins are wound-up, folded amino acid chains. the main function of protein is structure, because of its strength. each protein is different depending on what kind of amino acid is collected, how it's folded, and the other chains its folded with.
