Protein Synthesis:
When a protein is needed, this is how its done:
- DNA decides what kind of protein it needs.
- mRNA copies this information and takes it to the ribosome.
- the ribosome makes the prescribed amino acid and takes it to the Rough ER.
- The Rough ER 'crimps' or 'curls' the amino acid chain, then blebs off a vesicle which takes the chain to the Golgi Body.
- Once the Golgi Body obtains the amino acid chain, it folds it up how the Rough ER designed, adds other chains to it, and Voila! a protein is made.
- The Golgi body blebs a vesicle that takes the protein to where it needs to go.
